APE: what is it, who is it?
The Parents' Association (APE) of French Lycée Vincent Van Gogh in The Hague brings together parents who volunteer to represent families to the school, engage in dialogue with the management, and contribute to the friendliness within the Lyceum community.
The main missions of our Association
We are all parents and we want the best for our children.
This involves a good education. That is why we engage constructively in collaboration with the institution and the parents.
Listening and dialogue
We are attentive to parents on collective and individual issues and act as a communication link with the establishment to find the most suitable solutions for our children together. We communicate openly on WhatsApp to facilitate the sharing of information between parents.
Representation of families
The elected parents on APE lists represent all parents within the various school councils (nursery and primary) and establishment, as well as in the class councils for secondary education.
They are elected by the parents in October and meet three times a year in these bodies.
Friendliness and mutual support
We aim for friendliness and mutual support within our community of families. For example, we organise an autumn gathering and the school fair in June, we offer a stationery service, we provide snacks for children during sports events, and we help high school students prepare for their orientation interviews.

The elected parents: our representatives
Around fifty parents, elected during the October elections based on this manifesto, represent the families to the school council and the establishment council.
These bodies meet three times a year (in November, February/March, May/June).
